Live Life, Love Life, Go Utes

Gracious Touchdown Gods

The Utes played TCU last night in the bitter cold mountain tops of Salt Lake City. There was an ominous feel as we went into the game. The die hard fans blinded their eyes to the fact that TCU, in every way, were destined to win this game. Tom said that in his heart he felt that last night was the night that the winning streak would be broken, he wouldn't admit that till the end of the game because he is so superstitious. It is funny, actually. He notices little things that he does during a game that just happen to coinside with a good or bad play that happens on the field and then for the rest of the game he goes through those little rituals in an attempt to sway the game in our favor. Yesterday consisted of punching his brother in the stomach, yelling to the coaches and telling them which plays to run(who were definetely listening..... sarcasm at its finest), and NOT saying "Bryyyyy-ooooooon" (french accent included). He makes me chuckle. Anyhooo, TCU dominated in the first half of the game and I had lost most hope. It was a low scoring game....a game of defenses. Back and forth and back and forth it was driven down the field, only to be rejected by the touchdown gods. Just when we thought that there was no way to pull out a win, Brian Johnson did what he seems to always to do, he pulled his head out of his hind quarters, drove the ball all the way down the field and with much praying to the touchdown gods, threw a stumbling pass into the endzone for the win. Tom almost fainted because he was screaming so loud, jumping up and down and pounding on people who were, in turn, pounding on him. It was a fun night. Now, if only the parking lot gods would be so kind as to let us out of the parking lot within an hour, that would be nice.
