Halloween Havoc
Published by Julie under on 1:16 PMHalloween was yesterday. In the past our family has done a kickbutt haunted house every Halloween but this year we didn't have quite enough people to do it. We are planning on next year, though. This year we went trick-or-treating at Tom's work and at my sister's work and did a trunk-or-treat. It seemed like too much all in one day and sure enough, by the end of the day the kids were spent, my sanity was hanging on by 1/2 a thread I had lost my toothbrush. It was part of my Halloween costume and now I am without a basic essential. I think it is in the car. No, I HOPE it is in the car. Anyway, we had a wonderful, chaotic day of candy pilfering and the kids hardly ate any of their halloween candy at all, so not much of a sugar high for them. QuynhAnh was a VERY scary witch, with ratted hair that was all different colors, black witch hat with spiders and webs on it, red and black striped stockings and a cool witches broom. Coltrane was darth maul, with a double lightsaber, black cloak and hood, and painted face. I started out with grease paint but it only took one wipe across his face and that idea was quickly squelshed. I then came up with the idea of washable markers. It worked like a charm except for when he cried (and he cries A LOT) the tears were black and red. Interesting. Keenan was Batman and he was so freaking cute. He kept running around, cape flying behind him, making swooshing sounds. Fun day for fun kids. The favorite thing that Cole got was probably playdo, for Quyn it was peanut butter cups and laughy taffy and for Keenan it was laughy taffy and gum, which we had to pick out of his hair this morning.....Poor guy. Still, fun holiday. Happy Halloween!
