Happily ever after

Published by Julie under on 12:36 PM

It's hard to believe that Tom and I have been married for 9 years. I'm not going to say that it has been perfect. I will say that it has been like a fairytale, complete with poisoned apples, evil witches, knights in shining armor and happily ever afters. I say "happily ever afters" plural because our fairytale has had so many endings and beginnings that our story could a series.
Tom has always been my knight in shining armor, whether it be getting up with the kids when I am "just too tired" (after a gentle prodding from my foot against his back), a reality check of "it's just water, I'll clean it up" after a bathtime disaster involving all my shampoo, 3 little henchmen children, and bowls of "icecream" (soap suds), or when he calls a company that WILL NOT work with me and gets results immediately. He is the hero of the story. He sometimes is my poisoned apple too, leaving a trail of things undone behind him every morning, computer gaming till all hours of the night and the next day being unable to wake up at any decent time of the day, or letting kids sleep in our bed so often that it has become a nightly ritual. I would take those little, unimportant annoyances any day if it meant that I could spend forever with my best friend. I Love You's are thrown out so lightly, but, if after 9 years of hearing I Love You from Tom I still feel tingles when he sais it, I think that means something special.
1923- Garrett Morgan invents and patents the traffic signal
1961- ABC is born in Miami, Florida
1966- Dallas sacks Pittsburgh QBs an NFL record 12 times
1980- The 1st solar powered flight is performed
1999- Tom and Julie get married in the SLC temple for time and eternity
As you can see, our anneversary shares a pretty important date.
Finally, I wanted to say that I am so grateful for Tom. I am continually impressed by his intelligence, his passion for life, his values, his love for family, his humor. Heck! I even like his neurotic addiction to college football..... So I guess what I am saying is Tom, I Love You. Through it all, you are stuck with me because, you are awesome, ya big lug!
ps. thanks for the flowers, they are super pretty, and they look awesome in our juice jug (I don't have a vase big enough for them)
And they lived happily ever after
